Happy Monday! I hope this morning finds you rested and ready to go…and if not, that you can consume enough coffee to get there! This past weekend was just what I needed. Friday and Saturday, aside from a couple small chores around the house, were filled with nothing but rest and play, and Sunday brought another opportunity to worship and celebrate communion with our MCC family.
One of the highlights of our Saturday was having dinner with our good friends Josh and Jennifer Hampton. Josh shared a pic of our kids eating together on his Facebook page, and I thought I would share it here as well. Aren’t they cute?!?
As we begin a new week, I wanted to share one of my favorite quotes. We often wonder what our calling is…what the ultimate purpose of our existence might be. To be honest, I think we sometimes over complicate things. Writer and theologian Frederick Buechner puts it like this:
“The place God calls you to is the place where your deep gladness and the world’s deep hunger meet.”
So, may you find the intersection of that which brings you great joy and the needs of those around you. May you take time this week to remember that every moment is sacred, filled with Divine potential and energy. And may the world be better because we lived today.
How was your weekend? Anything you want to share? Feel free to post it in the comments section.
grace and peace.
