Last Sunday we continued our new series at MCC, “Good Words,” by talking about faith. If you missed the teaching you can find it here.
This Sunday, we are continuing the “Good Words” series with a look at hope.
I would love to hear your thoughts on the subject. How do you define hope?
What is hope? Well, on dictionary.com hope is defined as “the feeling that what is wanted can be had.” I think that hope is asking God for something that your heart really desires such as the healing of an illness, or keeping a foster child, and trying to be positive that things will turn out how you believe is right. All the while, knowing that even if circumstances don’t turn out th way you feel they should, that “God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose .” Romans 8:28
Most days, I have to be reminded that the above is true, because sometimes it takes a very long time to see how God uses hopeless situations for our good. And there are some situations, that I may never see how they will turn out good. I just have to trust that they will even if it is not in my lifetime, which can also be hard.
